RPI 3b+ with latest raspbian image and pi desktop case

Hi,

 

I bought the latest RPI 3b+ with latest raspbian stretch desktop image and pi desktop case and a usb stick.

 

I installed thedefault raspbian stretch desktop image on the usb stick and the rpi works direct from usb without changing boot parameters..

I placed the rpi and usb into the pi-desktop case.

 

I can startup the rpi by pushing the button on top of the case, the lights go on and the OS is starting up from usb.

But, when closing down, push the cover button for 2 seconds, nothing happens!

When pushing for 5 seconds i get a forced shutdown i think, cant check that , but it turns off, also the lights...

 

Is the fact that the 2 seconds OFF does not work because i did not use the image file sudo dpkg -i pidesktop-base.deb but the latest default raspbain image strech desktop ?

Is it possible to add software/scripts to my  raspbain image strech OS so that it can use the button and the RTC ?

    Without the correct script installed, you're right, it will be possible to power it up, and do an ungraceful 'force shutdown with 5-sec press' but it will not be possible to get the 2-sec shutdown behaviour. The correct script is needed for that. If you're not installing that as specified in the Pi desktop documentation (guessing - I don't own this) then you'll need to dig up the script, or try to trace which pin the Pi Desktop board is signalling on and write a custom script. This is more advanced stuff since you'll be dealing with unknowns (I don't know precisely how the Pi desktop does the controlled shutdown, I'm guessing it signals on an I/O pin to a script running on the Pi), so better to follow the known working procedure as described in any supplied documentation.

    I just installed the pi-desktop package on raspbian stretch.  I thought this was a complete os, it is not.

    everything works fine now!

    Still i little problem....

     

    device:

    when i push 2 sec is goes off

    push it quick it goes on

    push 5sec it it goes forced off

     

    domoticz, when i do

    - select shutdown in domoticz (rpi) it goes off, also the case

    - select restart in domoticz (rpi) it starts the plymouth-reboot-service, light flashes and then it goes off, not ON!

     

    i have a rpi 3b+ with latest raspbian stretch and latest domoticz beta
