We have exciting news for anyone working on Pi projects!

 

The element14 Community’s PiRack Connect Four Challenge is open for project submissions until October 18th, and we are offering you a chance to get started on your entry with a free PiRack! The winner will receive the Arduino Robot Development Kit. The winner will also receive the Connect Four board game, a vertical checkers game.

 

The PiRack is an expansion board that allows the connection of 4 I/O boards to the Raspberry Pi. It also enables the Pi Camera Module to be used at the same time as the expansion boards.

 

If you are interested in getting a free PiRack in exchange for entering the PiRack Connect Four Challenge, please respond to this post with an outline and description of your project idea. The element14 Community team will review the ideas and let you know if you are selected to receive a free PiRack.

  • Hi, I would use Rasperry PI and Arduino Kits to Promote Technology via teaching Python Programming, Robotics , Making, buliding DIY things to elementary and middle school children in my neighbourhood.

    I am buidling a wireless, interactive projector. Images. videos and other data content can be transmitted to a projector wirelessly from a laptop located remotely.

  • I'm planning on building a cool Augmented reality controlled Robot. The PiRack would allow me to use the camera module along with the other hardware control boards allowing me to get complete package to build my Bot!

    Greetings Dennis,

     

    Start with the basics and work up from there. There are a many books available as well as online courses as well. With a good foundation on basic electronics and the math associated with it.

  • hello,

     

    i am writing code to have the raspberry pi use the blue tooth smartcords from adafruit. so i can text or email and have the raspberry pie turn off all electrionics in the house. im thinking of having it set up timers too so i can have the pie be my clock and give alarm @ wakeup time and turn power back on.

     

    i have a few challanges for me (since i have never used a developement board, never used python or bluetooth, or transmissions of text or email) i have slight programming knowlege  about 4 weeks of college courses.

     

    did i happen to mention i dont have a raspberry pi yet, its post to be here on the 16th, lol.

     

    i decided to try this for my first sample project since theres a MAST fortune of information on bluetooth text and timers, as well as save me time when im late for work and dont have time.

     

     

    QUESTION: what are some useful projects out there that would help me learn electrical engineering. i dont make enough for going to college. i want to obsorb as much as possible for some sort of job in this field of study.
