For Newark element14 customers – we are fixing the shipping fee error on Raspberry Pi

Hello to all of you!

Thanks for letting us know about the $20 shipping fee you were charged at check-out at Newark element14. We investigated what happened, and it was completely our mistake! We're really sorry for the confusion and frustration this has caused our Newark element customers, and we're glad we're able to correct it! So, if you ordered through Newark element14 and noticed a Farnell direct ship charge, we’ll will refund the $20 charge. The overseas shipping price was mistakenly applied because of the way the product was set up in our system, which we are fixing now. You'll get an email from us informing you when the fee has been overturned, and we hope you love your new Raspberry Pi and we're looking forward to seeing all the creative ways you intend to use it!

By the way, I know a lot of you were disappointed to not get a unit right away. If you haven't already done so, please register with us so we can notify you the moment we get more units in stock. Hi Kevin,

The $20 fee for UK direct ship won't be charged. The charge is supposed to be removed automatically from any orders. I don't be the orders are shipping yet, so it may take some time for the change to be reflected. I would recommend messaging Nicole if you still see the $20 fee when the order does ship.

For my order, I only saw an authorization of $1.00 against my credit card which is now gone. I don't believe I'll be charged until the order ships.

Hello,

That's very generous but... I called Newark (3/5) and asked about the shipping and handling that would "appear on my invoice" and was told it is a flat $20 fee.

How do we go about ordering without the flat fee?

Raspberry Pi just keeps getting sweeter! I didn't mind paying $55, but I'll happily reinvest the $20 in additional gear (like for a USB WiFi or Bluetooth adapter and acrlyic to laser cut a case).
