Hi,
... wow, this was a little bit hard work.
At beginning Sept. i buyed the Launchpad with the booster board ADS7042.
So, today i spent a little bit time installing it to say "hello world".
First that was easy, i connected the Launchpad to the USB port and it works with it's demo program.
Then i plugged the boost board onto the Launchpad, jumpered to the optical sensor and connected to the USB port again.
Well - the drivers and the CCS IDE is now needing to install.
In the user guide of the BOOST-ADS7042BOOST-ADS7042 you'll find the advise
Goto Cloud-CCS, log in, then the CCS will installed.

Important: you needs the browser Chrome or Firefox! - the IE will NOT work! (I tried also with the IE, error message).
I use FF, done.
The link to the Cloud-Button:
After few minutes the CCS Cloud-IDE was installed.
Then import the ADS firmware, -> Energia Sketch: BOOST-ADS7042_Firmware.ino
You will asked which LP you use.
Next, install the drivers for the Launchpad and the firmware for the booster board.
Klick: Target - connect to COM -> install -> the exe file will download to the c: user username.. Refresh the CCS Cloud - it will restart
Then in the local explorer klick the exe and install the drivers, the COM-USB driver also Programmer (may be the Software of the Launchpad will be upgraded).
Then refresh the Cloud-IDE
Klick Target - connect to COM - the connection will established
- download the sketch file
->> If all right in the CCS Cloud-IDE and also the connection, the firmware will downloaded and installed into the LP.
The target is now ready for operation.
1. Press S1 on Boost
-> a status bar appears on the display / upper right corner / 16 UW
-> highlight the sensor -> the status bar will increase
2. Press S1
-> The status bar and the hex values are displayed on the display
-> high brightness of the sensor -> the status bar increases and the hex values will change
Done: "Hello World" -> You will not read "Hello World" you will see the declared messages.
Now my BOOST-ADS7042BOOST-ADS7042 is waiting for a new job
Within installing the CCS Cloud i also installed the newest CCS Studio for local using, Version 7.0.0.00042.
Download CCS - Texas Instruments Wiki
MOST IMPORTANT: if you install the CCS disable all virus scanners. I hate this! but you cannot install the IDE with active virus scanner (i tried this and earned error messages).
First: uninstall all older versions.
