Another application category highlighted in this road test is Wearable Interactive Lights. The specific example I want to demonstrate in this blog is how we can use the BLE LED module in an iconic Iron Man type Arc Reactor. There have been many variants of these arc reactors, but they are all surprisingly recognizable. This version adds the interactive ability to control colour from a phone, which means the phone could be programmed to control the Arc Reactor in response to any of the many sensors in a phone, such as microphone, accelerometers, GPS, RF strength meter, touch, compass, etc. Each sensor may have multiple modes of control, for example the microphone could be used to analyze music and turn the Arc Reactor into a colour organ, or it could be used with Siri to indicate mood of speech, or possibly you could ask Siri to change the colour. The following video shows the device design and demonstrates finished device with basic built-in operation.
