Received element13 Foil Headwave Aluminium aTtenuator DevKit for review

I just received the Aluminium aTtenuator DevKit for review.

The sturdy Aluminium foil was neatly folded and came with a complement of stickers.

I had proposed using the foil as a Faraday shield to mitigate my tinnitus.

The most difficult part of the roadtest will be the physical construction of the helmet to put over my head.  Never worked will Aluminium foil before.  Testing will be easy as no instrumentation is required to tell if the "noise" stops Laughing.

Of course, I don't know if Element14 will allow me to post an element13 review here...

I received the same! Gotta love it when a company commits to their April Fools joke to this level! Guess I better start figuring out how to fold a tinfoil hat!

ralphjy My most sincere condolences on the woodpecker.  I dealt with them for years - pecking holes in my building at work.  Your chimney looks like the same concrete covered Styrofoam that clad my building.  If left unchecked, they not only return and keep pecking, but may even nest - depending upon the depth of the Styrofoam.  The only good news I can share with you is that woodpeckers are fairly skittish and that stucco fills the holes.  Masking tape holds it in place and it sets up in two days - in decent weather.  They leave the stucco alone.  Paint to match.  Good luck.

I think I've found another use for the Aluminium foil.  As the granddog and I were walking today, I heard a loud hammering and looked up to see a large woodpecker pecking at the side of a chimney.  Unfortunately, by the time I got my phone out he had stopped hammering so I've suppressed the ambient noise in the video.  I had to capture a frame out of the video to identify it as a Northern Flicker.  The hammering behavior is the bird's way of announcing its territory.  Causes quite a lot of damage.  I think the foil would deter it, but I don't think I have enough in my roadtest kit...
