RoadTest Application Form Changes: No Save Draft Button But There is an Update Button

I have noticed some talk about the fact that there is no longer a Save Draft button on roadtest application forms, which are now called Roadtest Entry Forms.

It is true that there is no longer a save draft button. 

But there is an Update Button, which saves changes to your application form.

From my point of view, this is not a problem since I do not look at the roadtest entry forms until the enrollment period is over. However, some people may think otherwise. 

I guess if you don't want to post an entry form because you think you might want to change it, then I would keep it in an MS Word file until you have finalized it.

We are all getting use to the UI of our new platform. Even myself!

    No, they are not. The roadtest applications system is a completely different kind of system than it was on the old platform. In our old platform roadtest applications were visible via a member's profile if you had the right permissions level. On the new platform, they are not available at all--not even to myself; it's just not an option. In the new platform, the roadtest application data is stored on a unique sub-domain. You have to go through several levels/actions just to get to the application entry form data. Finally, the permissions has been tightened up a lot on this new platform from what I can see. Fewer of the staff have full admin privileges.

  • Presumable applications are not visible to other members, so this should work fine.

  • I haven't had to start an RoadTest application entry but I would have taken notice of the missing option.

    I have in my initial enthusiasm for a RoadTest, banged out an application in draft and then never submitted it as my understanding of time gives me pauses to reconsider rash decisions.

    Please keep sharing these tidbit of our current reality. It helps lesson the shock of discovery:)
