I just received the power supply unit this afternoon and thought that I'd take a quick look at it. It arrived in the familiar Newark Element14 box Thanks to Daniel for the quick delivery.
Inside the packing box was a generic product box. What surprised me a bit was there was no manufacturers brand (Tenma) on the box.
Inside the box was the PS unit, the AC power cord, a set of test clips and the User Guide.
Another surprise is that there is no power on/off switch. The unit powered on as soon as I plugged it in. What appears to be a power switch is the output on/off switch. Not a big deal, you just need to unplug it when not in use.
The backlight is either on or off, The LCD has 4 levels of contrast, the lowest level being the display is off.
The next minor surprise was that the included User Guide also had no manufacturer labeling - only a surprise because I had already downloaded a branded one from Element14.

The bigger surprise is that the Specifications in the 2 documents don't match. The Specs in the Element14 document are better and hopefully more up to date.

For a portable instrument the differences may not matter and these may be design specs rather than test specs.
I would have liked it if they had provided parameter charts like output current vs output voltage and noise vs frequency.
Looking forward to trying this out.
