Poll: Would you be Interested in Roadtesting Nordic's Thingy:53 and Edge Impulse's TinyML Solution together?

imageWe have been talking to Nordic Semiconductor about roadtesting their Thingy:53--their most current IOT prototyping platform.  Click here to read the product brief on it.

Here's more product information on the Thingy:53. click here.

Now, we wanted to combine a Nordic Thingy:53 roadtest with Edge Impulse's Tiny ML platform.

How does Edge Impulse's app work with the thingy:53?

"The nRF Edge Impulse app enables users to connect their Nordic Thingy:53 to their Edge Impulse studio account through a mobile device. It allows them to wirelessly transfer sensor data over Bluetooth LE to the mobile device and upload it to the cloud for training and download trained ML models to the Thingy:53 for deployment and inferencing. The app also acts as the GUI for viewing inferencing results from a running ML model."

Read this page to learn how to get started with Edge Impulse solution.

I would really be interested in evaluating another Nordic product. I'm presently road-testing the Nordic nRF9160 DK . and I have an application in a hackster.io for this product as well, but I have not…

Actually  ..  I was granted Free Hardware (Thingy53)  for the Smarter Sustainable World Challenge - Hackster.io.  I'm working on my project now. Nice little piece of hardware. I've been experimenting with the Bluetooth and Edge Impulse integration.

It would be the first Nordic device to test.

    Hello rscasny

I would love to review the Thingy:53. I am at present right in the middle of my review for the Nordic nRF9160 Dev Kit which uses the same toolchain as the Thingy:52.

They should also offer to roadtest the Thingy:91, which is the companion LTE controller battery operated board companion to the nRF91 series DK's.

In any case I was having a little trouble getting started on the nRF cloud capabilities but I'm feeling a little more comfortable now with the Toolchains. I've also done some work with Edge Impulse's Tiny ML platform., another exciting platform to experiment with.

I'll be looking for the next Nordic Roadtest.   The Thingy product line looks very infesting for remote IoT projects.

    Steve,

I think you commented somewhere on e14 about the LTE-M coverage in your area was limited or not there. I was quite surprised because I would have thought the entire UK would be covered. What I read was helpful. Made me take a closer look at coverage for these sorts of roadtests. Thanks.

I tested the Thingy:91 which never really worked due to the lack of LTE-M and/or NB-IoT network coverage where I live. It looks like this device bypasses that issue by going through a separate mobile device, which is likely to be easier.
