ROADTEST POLL: Would You Be Interested in Roadtesting an Open Source Single Board Computer?

imageI have a couple of new BeagleBone SBCs that I'd like the community to roadtest.

This poll is to gauge the level of interest.

    It requires a 5V 3A power supply.

    I would challenge the assumption it requires a 5V 3A power supply.

    I think if the RoadTest requires the candidate to provide the power supply it needs to state that or provide the supply. It has been suggested in another post an escrow be established for a candidate to participate. The participant having to purchase a PS can be a burden just like an escrow. I have struggled with cables used in RoadTests to discover I'm using the wrong one. Great teaching moment but hey was the RoadTest about the correct cable.

    If you want to test a Raspberry Pi you better have knowledge of power requirements or your frustration will mount. Clearly tell me what I am getting and what I would need to purchase. If I have to purchase, what is recommended not leave me guessing. Try any old 5V 3A PS on a Pi and let me know of the success.

    I don't think it comes with a power supply when I opened up the package we received them in. Adding in a power supply is not really a problem. Often times roadtesters have a power supply or power cords and we ask them what they need. The power supply shouldn't be a deal breaker.

    A matching power supply would be nice. I was myself thinking a usb-c to terminal board adapter to be included ,  most any power supply could be used and the tester could try different variations of current limit/voltage sag. Some Grove connector pigtails would also be really helpful, I have a nice collection of sensors , most don't have Grove connectors. The sensors that do have Grove connectors have lost their provided cables in the micro-black hole that randomly moves about in my man-cave.
