And that is how you build a Flight Sim... Now about the aircraft itself, hmm, a Mechanic, Designer, and Chief Crash Dummy! LOL oh no, one more Technical Writer. WAIT I also am a scratch cook, and clean the DAM Loo!!! oh, and I have been working on two books! I love my TV X-Files, Law and Order, and Star Trek Enterprise and I try to hit the pool a few times a week, I don't ever get to everything all the time...

kmikemoo yea, on Thursday if I were lucky they would dump a computer of some sort with little or no docs, then just for good measure later in the day of course, they would drop a box (peripheral of some sort) and say can you get this thing to talk to the computer we just dropped off.. And I want an update before Wednesday of next week. most of the crap was mill so I had to contact the usual suspects and this was being done without the internet!!
The reason I love this job is that I have lifetime job security!! And too many folks that well don't know f*** about anything! it's like somebody taking their computer to BEST BUY's Geek Squad!! to get it fixed!
Sorry, there are no application engineers as good as end users who are unfamiliar with a device. Most of the error messages came from these because the keys and combinations do what someone doesn't know what the device knows. They drove us half crazy. The in-house auditors knew the program functions and the hardware. they were the worst application engineers.
I am a hardware design engineer, specializing in development from circuit diagrams to the finished product.
The mechanical construction also comes into play.
At times I also write programs to bring microcontrollers to life - here I am more of a function tester of the built product.
I then pass on the development of software, embedded, etc. to software specialists.
