RoadTest Policy Update: If You Never Receive The Product To RoadTest

rscasny
rscasny over 8 years ago

Just a quick update regarding an issue that came up a few months ago and I was reminded of it today.

Basically, a RoadTester never received the product to RoadTest and we have not had inventory of the product for quite awhile. The roadtester had contacted me several times about it awhile ago. I re-ordered it and contacted the shipper. There was no record of it so I had no tracking number. Our ordering department says three are on order. My guess is Dave Hamblin also ordered the product.

While I am very serious about people doing their roadtest reviews, I surely can't hold a roadtester accountable if he/she made the effort to get the product by contacting me or we don't have stock on hand. Since this RoadTest was about a year old (prior to my involvement in the RoadTest program), I'm thinking the policy should be in this situation to cancel this roadtester's application so he is not prevented from applying to any other RoadTests.

Unless I hear of a better idea, that will be my policy going forward.

Sincerely,

Randall Scasny

Hello rscasny Would it be possible to put it on hold, that is if/when it come sin stock they could still do the road test if they would like to (situations and interests can change in a year) but at the…

Kas, That's my concern. I don't want to hold it against them or prevent them from participating in other Roadtests because of our stocking issues. For this particular individual, we did put it on hold…

If an open RoadTest affects eligibility for another, then maybe there should be another RoadTest state to indicate a RT is on hold or delayed (set immediately when uncertain delays happen), so that the RoadTester can apply to others in the meantime, rather than having to wait a year for the record to be cleared.

I'm sure our developers would love creating another "roadtest state"!  A good idea that I'm not sure how implementable it is. In any event, I have to ensure that a roadtest is not penalized for our shortcomings.

    Thanks.

Sell it to them as "job security" - a long to-do list means they're set until retirement image
