Are You Ready To Build A Project with the Pocket IO? I Got 5 to Giveaway

rscasny

Back in April, I wrote a blog asking the community what they would build with the PocketIO from Maxim Integrated. Some people responded.

Now, I've learned I am getting 5 of them. And the supplier would like to sponsor 5 projects.

If you are still interested and are available, please comment below.

If you didn't suggest a project in the original blog, please provide me some idea of what you would build. A summary of the project.

For technical information on the Pocket IO, go here.

Thanks.

That is very generous rscasny Thanks for following up. I will endeavor to post a picture of some of the swag in an interesting location or a tech scenario.

    Hi rscasny

If I'm not too late for it, I would like to put my proposal forward for testing the Pocket IO. The project I would be using it for is a prototype/proof-of-concept for a fish farming automation control station. Basically the station needs to receive input from a series of sensors (temperature, water level, luminosity, dissolved oxygen, nitrates), compare them against the desired production reference model and, if any reading is out of the desired range, take corrective actions by controlling several actuators (water pumps, heater element, water oxygenator). It would also collect the data for logging and be connected to a display, to show the real-time readings from the sensors. Could I ask what sort of deadline is the supplier thinking of? Thank you.

    Fabio.

    Fabio,

    You are not too late.

Just for everybody interested in this:

I posted a blog awhile ago on what you would build with he Pocket IO. This blog garnered a handful of ideas that i brought back to the supplier. Then recently, they wanted to act upon the project and give me 5 kits to give away. Once I heard that, I sent out a follow up blog. I wasn't sure that the initial responders were available so I encouraged others to offer their ideas. I will aggregate the ideas and submit them to the supplier. I will annotate the original ones. The supplier will make the final decision as usual. If you are given a Pocket IO for a project, I'd like to get maybe three blogs from 3. I don't want to overburden you. blog 1-- initial impressions; blog 2-project progress report; blog 3 -- present the final build. I'd be open to any other ideas as well.
