Are You Ready To Build A Project with the Pocket IO? I Got 5 to Giveaway

Back in April, I wrote a blog asking the community what they would build with the PocketIO from Maxim Integrated. Some people responded.

Now, I've learned I am getting 5 of them. And the supplier would like to sponsor 5 projects.

The last time I commented on this project, I was collecting project descriptions and getting ready to send them to the supplier who had offered me 5 free units to give to people. Then, Workshopshed made the comment that the Pocket IO uses the Edison, which is going to be discontinued. It made me come to a screeching halt.

So I went back to the supplier and asked them. My liaison didn't know the answer off hand. She went back to her team. It took a bit but they sent me an apology and something to the effect that since the Pocket IO uses the Edison, which will be discontinued, they will have to suspend things. I don't really blame them. They surely didn't know Intel was going to pull the Edison. But I was bummed out that I asked people to take their time and offer project ideas.

After thinking about it, the best I could do was offer a consolation prize. So I went to our storeroom and gathered a list of products that were either left over from RoadTests (new) or are not being used.
