Arduino Mega 2560

Table of contents

The Arduino Mega 2560 is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega2560. It has 54 digital input/output pins (of which 14 can be used as PWM outputs), 16 analog inputs, 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports), a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started.

  • By the way serial communication is realy useful for transmiting data fom microcontroller to microcontroller or PC.

  • Had just a little chance to use Arduino Mega 2560 and I loved it. We were using it for constructing mobile robot with GPS, compass, 2 PING sensors, robotic arm (4 outputs, 2 analogue inputs and 2 digital inputs), 2 servos for moving PING sensors, and other devices. So we used a lot or PWMs, simple I/O and analogue inputs image It's speed, and amaout of memory is realy good.

Device it self can be powered from USB or power supply over 2,5mm jack (6-20V).  It has 54 I/O pins, and 14 of them are PWM and can control servo motors for robots or other aplications + 16 analogue inputs for monitoring position of potentiometer or any other analogue sensors. Processor speed is 16MHz (could be faster, but it's sufficient).

All programming can be done with Arduino software in C language. There are a lot of libraries, so easy to use with original functions.

Really greater board for starting programming microcontrollers or using them in fast and easy way.

I'd like to get this for my self one day.

  • Really sorry about the confusion here. There was only ever 3 products for review, I think that the 30 people per page symbol may have confused some people. Also reviewers are not chosen until the test is finished. Unfortunately when the test finishes the number of kits available disappears. This is an improvement we are working on now to stop this happening again,.

    Thanks for your patience,

  • according to awinning, there were only 3 spots open instead of the 30 that it showed avaliable during the road test. i think they have a problem with the road test app and definatly should do better quality control of what they post.

  • Sounds like people didn't get to this in time which seems pretty weird to me. Going to do this road test again? (seeing that there should be 27 more road test products)

  • there were 30 (?) spots open for the road test that ended on 1/30 and it shows only 3 road testers. how does this road test work? i applied on 1/15 but haven't recieved a response yet.
