This seems to be a great piece of equipment. I will not apply but I definitely recommend this road test to beginners. I already have a similar Tektronix scope and I am very happy with how it works (TEK…

Hi Gary, I can quickly answer this, 10x probes are included (they are considered part of the accessories supplied with it as standard in the datasheet), and the USB port does support remote control (aka…

This looks like a good unit to test, from man different perspectives.  @ 70MHz, its a good in the middle of the road capability for devices that dont need 2gb speeds (which is the majority of things).  I can see using this to help test my residential batteries for signals coming from the battery and/or the inverter.

This seems to be a great piece of equipment.  I will not apply but I definitely recommend this road test to beginners.  I already have a similar Tektronix scope and I am very happy with how it works (TEK 1202B).  For beginners, if you are afraid that you might not have enough knowledge to perform a high quality road test here is a link to a series of blog posts I have published on Element14 about fundamental electronics concepts and the corresponding measurements with my TEK1202B oscilloscope:

I reviewed the Tektronix TBS1202B-EDU Oscilloscope - Review   in the past and I can anyone recommend to apply for this one.

Since I'm not a hardware collector (Poll: What Motivates You to Apply for a RoadTest?   ) I won't apply this time.

i have the same one. It's good.

Oops, I have a 2000 series. My memory is shot.

Haha wrong model, it’s 70MHZ, I screwed up, used 200MHz one.

    probably 800.

still, I don’t think the sponsor will provide as many units

You hear the saying "Go Big or Go Home"  :-)

or "wanna run with the big dogs " ?

How about needing a significant sample size to understand the dataset ?

Its a very modest marketing investment for a product that will make millions in high volume sales.

    Everybody wants one

I mean, how can you be sure 31 people have the ability to test this scope? Honestly, I'd want to test, since I don't have one but I plan on getting one if I need one.

However there's 1) tax liability(this is around 540 dollars tax liability!)

and 2) I'm not too sure how to test. I mean, I don't even have a good DC power supply yet, should get one if I move to a bigger house.

Here is a war story about scopes. Eons ago when I started out working as a Field Engineer, the first tool we took out on arrival to a site for troubleshooting was a scope.

Firstly, analog drives and controls operation were really dependent on the DC power supplies, so we always checked them first for ripple and AC components.

Secondly, hooking up the scope made it look like we knew what we were doing, the production and maintenance people would back off for awhile, giving breathing room and time to work.
