Roadtesters need a variety of test equipment to do the product testing. From the list below, what equipment would you like to have on your bench but do not presently have?
I'll buy you the octopus arms if you can find it on Newark? What's the SKU number?
I picked "other" because on this list I need more that one. I am new to this and don't have any tools right now but a cheap $5 soldering iron, some solder(60/40), snips, automatic wire strippers and that…
A programmable dc load would be pretty nice to play with.
I would like a "Build a Bench" shopping spree in the Lista catalogue :) Thanks!
I would like an audio spectrum analyzer and some good ratcheting crimpers.
Other items missing from the list include CAD software, mechanical fabrication tooling and an RLC meter.
I picked "other" because I'd like to suggest some software licence roadtest.
What about a Matlab Simscape electrical roadtest?
A personal licence should be a very good incentive to complete a roadtest.
I lack a reliable bench power supply. I currently use a 12V switching PS with some buck/boost modules to generate some standard voltages. At some point maybe I will invest in a bench PB with a collection of nice banna clip connection cables to make my life easier.
I voted for Pattern Generator because it would be nice to have a "protocol aware" unit for testing hardware interfaces. On reflection, it seems like it might be something that I could do as project .
A VNA or Spectrum Analyzer would also be good to have. I'd probably use the Spectrum Analyzer more. I have a pretty basic 100MHz oscilloscope which is great for most things, but it would be great to get a higher frequency mixed-signal oscilloscope with multifunction capability that would replace many of the listed instruments.
