Upgrading my printer

Former Member

I have a Geetech prusa i3 pro b. After a lot of studying, troubleshooting and calibrating I finally got it printing. The extruder I am using is a China made MK8 so I want to swap it out cause it jams every chance it gets. What do you guys think about the E3D hotend? And what would be the best way to mount it?

    Hello Alan,

to be honest I don't think that it is the MK8 but a series of concurrent factors that makes the printer printing bad. The general problem I see, also reading all the users having issues is that 3D printing is not so much a problem of high or low priced devices but the ability to focus the issues that originate in the machine. The point is that I see that most of the 3D printers users focus their attention on electronics and eventually software while most of the problems are strictly related to a good mechanical settings and a great part of the other issues depends on the kind of (good or bad set) relation we set between the many different parameters that are far to be independent.

I say this just to avoid the delusion that seeing the things in a not too correct perspective the risk is that nothing of few things changes also after replacing the extruder component. Maybe good to post some details images of the points where you suppose the issue is and also some images of the wrong printing.
