RepRap Ormerod hits the big time

It's nice to see Adrian Bowyer's seminal work on RepRap over the years finally pay off in a high profile distribution deal:

Adrian just reported it on the RepRap blog:

 

 

I hope he gains some success from the deal, as it's richly deserved.  Also, this backing from a major industrial distributor is good for RepRap and for the field of 3D printing in general, so I'm very happy to see it.  (And the price point seems quite reasonable.)

 

While I'm at it, I'll just point out that Premier Farnell is in the field as well, with two different brands:

 

 

This is a healthy state of affairs, and I have no doubt that it's going to grow immensely over the next few years.

    Me, I'm really hoping to try to finish a test tool I started 2 years ago! The bits are in a cardboard box for all this time, I've forgotten how

    little or how much of it I've done :-(

    Oh, you're evil. image :-(  I really have to complete it in 2014.  It cost too much to abandon through deferral.

    It's terrible, isn't it.  I have so many projects in that state, both hardware and software.  So sad.

     

    That's the trouble with technology, there's so much going on that unless one has unusually narrow horizons, there are a billion subjects demanding one's involvement.

     

    Speaking of which, I'm very interested in test tools, so hurry up and get on with it. image :-P
