Idea for someone to build

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

I was watching several videos on youtube when I came across an invite to check out this sight and so here I am

First thing I apologize for my spelling its a disability vision thing Sorry

While watching the a fore mentioned videos I saw one about impossible 3d printing and was blown away 1 of the items printed was several rings with berrings made in side This sparked that ol friend apifany I was reminded of a build I came up with several years ago for a self driven ring set that had permenant as well as electro magnets in it. what has kept me from this build up to now was the means to get the magnets in the right places.

But with 3d printting I think Ive figurde it out. What if we print the ring and bearing sets up to a point just before the closure of the hollow Bearings takes place and we pause the print for a couple minutes whille we fill the berrings of altering sets with Pharol powder or fluid and after we finish the print we charge the alternatting bearing sets with apossing polarities I dont had a 3d printer yet but would love to give this idea a try to see just what might happen.

Please send any thoughts on this idea Thankx

    Lynn,

If I understand you correctly, you could easily create a ring with voids just below the surface, pausing the print to insert permanent magnets into the hollow spaces just before completing the print process for the rotor. Doing the same in the outer stator with electrically wound coils would give you an electrically driven motor suspended magnetically (low friction).
