Reports of 3D printing taking 5+ years to be common-place

What is the communities opinion on this? I honestly don't believe that it will take that long for integration to occur...what do you guys/girls think?

For those of us with inquisitive minds and brilliant ideas, I agree. The possibilities for experimenting are just endless. I can't wait for mine to arrive. DAB

Necessity has a way of speeding up progress. As the price comes down and the intuitivness increases so the nontechnical person can see the need, I brleive 3D printing will be a common place appliance.
