3D Printing Brings More Advancements in Medicine

It seems that every day there's an article about the new ways 3D printing is impacting life as we know it.

In an article from Make Magazine, Man Saves Wife's Sight by 3D Printing Her Tumor, we learn about Michael Balzer's successful efforts to use 3D printing to avoid the performance of  a high risk craniotomy to remove his spouse's tumor. Instead, he helped pioneer a new minimally invasive procedure to remove it.

Another story from Gizmodo.com, Programmable DNA Glue Can Selectively 3D-Print Natural Materials, theorizes that the DNA coating in these materials may make it possible to create stuctures that might be the basis for organic objects like organs.

What kind of impact has 3D printing had on your medical care? What do you think are some of the next advancements in medicine by way of 3D printing?

I think any of those things could happen, Brad.

Actual tissue replacemen, bone replacement, even cartlidge but not by stem cells, by replicating the actual cells and blood types of the person... And I think microscopic advancements in replicating certain materials and advancements in nano technology like the movie "Transcendence".
