What 3D CAD package is good for learning

dougw

It looks like I will be getting a cool Cel Robox 3D printer.

I have downloaded their Automaker software which required me to upgrade my video card.

Now I need to start designing objects and generating 3D print files.

Any suggestions what is a good learning package?

I don't need to design machinery, mostly just cases for electronic projects.

I use Eagle for electronics and I like Corel Draw for illustrations - a package that uses something similar to the Corel UI would be great.

So far I am trying FreeCad, SketchUp and 123D Design.....

The 3D printer is back-ordered so it has not arrived yet. So far I have been getting my computer set up with an adequate video card and making designs with 123D Design. The lack of absolute coordinate…

I Like Tinkercad the best, I tried to draw with autodesk 123d and it was like learning Chinese lol, I use it often to draw all of my designs, the tutorial was easy and I like how it works, but autodesk123d has the online account now and it has had it's glitches since the switch.

Personally my favourite software is sketchup. You can use it to make 3d models VERY quickly. It is not as powerful as other pieces of software, but it is increadibly easy to learn how to use.
