Ender 3 Pro

02Kitch
02Kitch over 2 years ago

So tired of screwing around with this printer. First off, head was rubbish, so new head, head better.

blow head element, get new element, goes after 2 weeks, replace again.

figure the new E3 board, NFG myself of the repair guy cant find firmware. get the shits.

buy a 4.2.7 board, install, X axis not triggering switch, check all wiring, all is ok. showing ender 3 not pro, go to upgrade, find file, no luck installing through usb slot.

turning into 1 *** way to pass my time and to make broken things.

The Ender 3 Pro is always sold as being a great "entry" 3d printer, but really it's a tinkerer's toy that requires a lot of tweaking to get 'right' and to get 'working. Which a lot of people see as a plus…

Yes, I agree with colporteur I personally don't like any of the 3D printers with a moving bed. (realign, realign) and you must repeat this prayer three times: Dear God of the computer, I beseech you, grant…

Basically, a normal experience with low end 3D printers, I had similar experiences like 10 years ago with a DIY 3D printer, it's a headache but definitely you can enjoy it. You need to take a break then…

I have no idea what an Ender 3 Pro is but, your issues would frustrate the best of us. I see by the point count on your profile  you are a new member to the confessional. Welcome.

The Ender 3 Pro is always sold as being a great "entry" 3d printer, but really it's a tinkerer's toy that requires a lot of tweaking to get 'right' and to get 'working. Which a lot of people see as a plus as opposed to the proprietary 3D printers.

So you have my sympathy with coming to it anew.

Basically, a normal experience with low end 3D printers, I had similar experiences like 10 years ago with a DIY 3D printer, it's a headache but definitely you can enjoy it. You need to take a break then go back to the printer and try to solve one issue at a time. If the wiring is fine may the switch is not working.

There are lots of potential problems with 3D printers and even expensive printers will eventually need maintenance. It sounds like you are having an unusual number of issues but at least that printer is not too hard to work on. Some of them are built in a way that makes maintenance very difficult.

There is always the decision to be made whether the 3D printer is your hobby, or 3D printing. For the former an Ender or something similar is the perfect choice (as it can be modified however you like), for the latter you want something more reliable (the usual recommendation is a Prusa MK3S, or now an MK4), or maybe a BambuLabs (although they currently get mixed reviews in that regard).

Pray to the seversYes, I agree with colporteur I personally don't like any of the 3D printers with a moving bed. (realign, realign) and you must repeat this prayer three times: Dear God of the computer, I beseech you,  grant me this wish; Do not let your magic smoke appear, and let this contraption magically work.

I had to use the above prayer and it seems to work.

Some may disagree with you there slightly on the tinkerer's toy that requires a lot of tweaking to get 'right' and to get 'working front... Slight smile

imageimage colporteur heres more of the same! or maybe you would like the stuff from "*** Operator from hell" no this is more appropriate:

    Subject: Engineer in Hell

An engineer dies and reports to hell. Pretty soon, the engineer becomes dissatisfied with the level of comfort in hell and starts designing and building improvements. After a while, they've got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and the engineer is a pretty popular guy.

One day God calls Satan up on the telephone and says with a sneer: "So, how's it going down there in hell?"

Satan replies: "Hey things are going great. We've got air conditioning and flush toilets and escalators, and there's no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next."

God replies: "What??? You've got an engineer? That's a mistake - he should never have gotten down there; send him up here."

Satan says: "No way. I like having an engineer on the staff, and I'm keeping him."

God says: "Send him back up here or I'll sue."

Satan laughs uproariously and answers: "Yeah, right. And just where are you going to get a lawyer?
