I've never printed anything before, never touched a 3D printer or software. I ordered Kossel Pro kit and it took a lot of Saturday nights getting it built. I had no experience making anything but that's going to change.
Desperate to get into the Maker world, I started a business and bought a bunch of stuff I don't know how to use. I invited a few people to hang out and make stuff. Got a Kossel Mini kit to build also as soon as I know what I'm doing with the Pro. My "club" is going to make Kossel Mini parts and teach people how to make/acquire/assemble a few key things.
So we found a power cable (because the printer kit didn't come with one), plugged it in, connected a laptop, and Matter Control found it. We did a circle calibration test or something and it moved around for like 40 minutes. Nothing printed. LOL, you're probably thinking reading this. But seriously, how does a total beginner begin? I don't want a desktop machine I can't fix or that will be obsolete the next day.
I did find a maker group near me and convinced my parents to let my girl sleep there, so I can hang out with people who know what they're doing Tuesdays from 6-midnight, for now. We'll see how it goes.
I've been meaning to get back to Element 14 for some time now. Hope I find it as useful as it looks!
