connecting low resolution lcd to a computer (for micro uv 3d printer)

HI, I'm Fuzion_Reaktor and I'm trying to connect a low resolution lcd (240-480p) to a computer to use for a very small uv-lcd 3d printer. Like the iBox nano just less well refined. The screen uses a composite input, and as far as I have tried I cannot get any computer to run at the low resolution or just connect. Anyone got any ideas? I'm trying to use a windows pc but if anyone knows of a linux os with an appropriate DLP printer software or something. Or anyone know of a way to use a raspberry pi for this?

The Raspberry Pi will run that display fine. As for application software - I don't know, but if you find some post it here...

Thanks, I will. So far all I've got is a couple of how-tos on controllers, nothing running a display and printing software except the ibox nano.

I've been thinning though. Is it possible to force my computer to output say a 720p video signal through one of its' display ports? Without it checking to see if anything is connected first? From there I could maybe find some sort of converter/adapter for the screen. Or maybe the screen will convert itself to 480p, or will display the upper right corner of the 720p signal. Then I could finagle something to get it working.

You can get a VGA-to-NTSC converter for under $15. You should be able to set your output to VGA. If not, you can get a USB-to-VGA converter for about $9 or an HDMI-to-VGA converter for about $6.

Actually I have a dvi to vga adapter, just my PC wont send a signal if it can't tell it's connected to a display.

the lcd wont turn on without an input and my pc wont output without first detecting that a display is connected.

I have a display with this characteristic.
I assume VGA to composite converters supply EDID info to the pc, because a composite display provides no feedback.

Actually its a dvi to vga & a vga to composite adapter. My pc is too new to have a vga port.

OH, and I did find a raspberry pi dlp controller software; nanoDLP - Raspberry Pi Based Software for DLP 3DP Printers. I haven;t heard anything about it or found much mention on forums so I'm not going to try it yet.

Just got a vga to composite powered adapter (like this: TV RCA Composite S Video AV IN TO PC MAC VGA LCD OUT Converter Adapter BOX Black | eBay) It works well enough and the screen fits well. I'm not entirely sure what resolution the screen is anymore but it should work for my purpose.
