Question about calibration

I'm new to 3d printer building and I recently purchased a Geetech Prusa i3 pro b and got it assembled.

When I run my print, the filament does not seem to extrude enough and usually does not stick to the bed.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make this work?

What settings are you using and do you have it with a heated bed

If there is a gantry leveling and calibration routine, have you run it !

the filament should be comming out and being slightly squished to the bed on the first layer

What slicing software are you using? You'll need to check your settings. This usually happens when you have 3mm filament setting when you are using 1.75mm.

I think that it is better if you describe all the environment you are using (slicer, controller software, kind of bet (cold, heated), working temperature of the bed and the extruder, extruder model etc. A full described scenario can be very helpful
