I was just curious if someone else here in this comunity has worked on a 3d printer like Anet
I have had an Anet A8 for almost two years now. I am very happy with it BUT. There are some safety changes you should make before using it on long prints (over 12 hours) or with ABS filament. You should add two mosfets. One for the hot bed and one for the hot end. The mosfets on the motherboard are two small and will overheat. I also changed the connectors on the hot bed itself. I added some higher amperage XT-60 connectors. It was probably not necessary, but the old connector was starting to get discolored from heat. De-soldering and re-soldering connections on the heated bed is a pain. It is aluminum so you need a soldering iron with some horsepower to counteract the heatsink effects of the bed.
There are great communities showing all the upgrades on YouTube and on Facebook.
This is not a plug and play printer but I get better results than some of the printers here at the university. You will also learn a lot about 3D printers while assembling and using the Anet A8.
