Raspberry pi is a product loved by so many of us. This is now an establised product But lately Edison has entered the market, but sadly for the intel guys they are a bit late to enter this segment, although they have tried to compensate by collaborating with arduino but how good it will be ,that need to be seen. Edision has a great form factor for wearable. But it is not that versatile,i live in India and i deal alot with electrical engineering students and so i feel it is more convenient to work with pi than edision coz the 3.3v compatible IC are bit difficult to find for students, moreover more of these come in SMD and many times it is very difficult to work with them for students who donot have well built infrastructure around them. although all final products have SMD but on a protoboard these have no place. I see these as hurdles for edision to compete with pi. Also higher price is another hurdle
