Yep, seen many computers with a single fan (or none), and the way the question is worded makes it sounds like it's an absolute.

It's been quite a while since I've built a PC or even upgraded one other than adding memory or disk storage. Quite a difference from the early days when it seemed I was building or upgrading one for every processor iteration. In my old age, PCs have become more of a tool than a hobby.

Do you remember the "Turbo" button? I remember one case with a Turbo button that just changed some LEDs on the front of the case without any connection to the motherboard. You could also change some jumpers inside to have the digits display whatever number from 1-99 when the button was pressed.

Yup. We used to have users that "only used it when it was cold in the morning", then complained that their machine was running slow...

Your case would have been ideal for them.

Sometimes I wish it was still there though. I'm currently running some 80's software that relied heavily on having the fixed 4.77MHz clock for its program timing.

Yes - we have had some high-performance XT computers at school which after turning on turbo were making digger game unplayable (way too fast - optimized for 8MHz 8088 it seems)
