Statistics and Figures are based on a sample size of over 100,000+ challenges processed from Employers who have run challenges on CodeEval in 2012.
So this really just tells us that CodeEval is mostly used by Pyhton & Java programmers - it is not (and does not claim to be) representative of coding in general!
In particular, it is not (and does not claim to be) representative of the types of coding likely to be relevant to the element14 community...
I was very confused when I saw this, and then I noticed, CodeEval are some test tool vendor or something? Not sure. So I guess their test tool is used most with Python. Possibly C is still the most popular language by volume maybe, but to be honest I'm not so sure.
Maybe the order is:
Web developers order: Javascript, PHP, Perl, Java
Embedded apps developers order: C, C++
Desktop apps developers order: C++, Java, Csharp
Test engineer's order: Python, Perl, TCL, C
Mobile apps developers: Java, Objective C,.. not so sure.
