SKEDD plug-in Connectors for your next PCB design

SKEDD direct connection technology makes device design more flexible both PCB and device manufacturers see immediate benefits from this technology.

SKEDD contacts are an improvement on press-in technology, and they place no special requirements on the PCB. The contact zone consists of two flexible contact members that are easy to bend outward and that are adapted optimally to the PCB plated through-holes. When inserting the contact into the plated through-hole, the contact members are pressed together – thereby ensuring a secure mechanical and electrical connection.

Tool-free, reliable and process-efficient – the combination of push-in spring connection and SKEDD direct connection technology offers new flexibility in device wiring. SKEDD connectors do not require headers and can be plugged in directly by hand in tin-plated through-holes. This enables PCB and device manufacturers to implement countless device designs with application-specific connections for signals, data and power using just a few PCB layouts. Various tests have proven it: Whether for applications with high vibration requirements like railway technology or with special fire protection requirements like in household device technology – Phoenix Contact’s direct connectors with SKEDD technology are an interesting new solution.

I received a sample of PCB and connectors and it was very good to implement in our next designs they are soldering less and easy to fix to the PCB without Screwing. Removing or replacing them is also easy and faster then unscrewing and de-soldering, it is very useful to implement them in students projects. I will show you have the SKEDD connectors can be used to fit in your projects.

In the below figure Connectors PCB board is given for Crimp and Plug-in cables and the solder-free connectors are fixed on the PCB board.

Below figure shows the top and bottom view of the connectors, crimp connectors has lock/unlock pins at bottom and on top for plug-in connectors.

In the below figure on left side shows the plug-in (Black) and crimp (Blue and Violet) wires to insert into the connectors they are very tightly bound for the connectors even it won't come if your pull by your hand and they are like screw or soldering tight for different size connecting wires different connectors can be chosen based on our purpose. The connectors can be used for wide range of low voltage to high voltage, low current to high currents, low frequency to high frequency signals in various applications.

In the below figure shows the top and bottom view of the wires inserted into the connectors and connectors mounted on the PCB.

If the PCB board of the sample kit was given with extended pads and score lines for each and every connectors it would be useful to incorporate in the project to show use cases in various applications.
