Conundrum: a confusing and difficult problem or question.
I moaned after Gough Lui posting in Microchip PoE to USB-C Power and Data Adapter regarding adapters. This is the second time writing about the connector conundrum but the first time posting about it. The *** I had about the connector seemed unique to me. For the Microchip PoE USB-C RoadTest I invested about sixty buck in adapters. I should have left the money in my pocket and I would have been further ahead.
If you count the number of pins each connector has, it stands to reason when you cross connect pins from a connector with less pins to a connector with more pins, some pins will be lost. I made some assumptions. USB-C adapter to USB mirco (for PiZeroW) power and data should work. No it didn't. A USB-A adapter to a USB-C to plug into the Microchip PoE and then a USB micro end for the PiZeroW did work.
Like a person that falls into quick sand, the more they flail, the more they sink. I was in quicksand with the adapters and I was flailing trying to uncover why?
Microchip PoE to USB-C Power and Data Adapter RoadTest Review Data Success In this final blog post, I identified what failed and what was successful. That failure is mine or me and my pool of adapters. Maybe some of the Pi's on the fail list actually work. I just didn't have any success. Throw in the additional variables that it could be hardware and/or configuration, I threw in the towel. I have to confess solving the quadratic equations with three variables is something I suck at also.
