I need either 4 or 8 pin plugs or sockets that already have leads soldered to the parts. I am tired of building cables myself.
I have to send up to 4VDC @ 3A down these cords.
Is there anything I could out there I could buy off the shelf?

Hi Cabe,
What sort of connectors and cable are you using?
Grifter,
Thanks for the reply!
Right now I am using Tyco CPC connectorsTyco CPC connectors. My main problem is having to solder wires to each individual pin. And they are not set up for easy access to each pin.
I don't want to even solder a single wire to these, I just want them already assembled.
Any thoughts?
Cabe
Hi Catwell,
Farnell have recently introduced some Souriau UTS cable assemblies (see link below) but these are only plug - free end or socket - free end assemblies. Unfortunately only the 4 pin plug and socket versions are currently in stock.
I will also speak to Tyco for you to see if they can offer us any CPC cable assemblies. I will keep you updated on this.
Gareth
Gareth,
Thank you so much. I never knew those cables existed. Keep me updated on you contact with Tyco.
I appreciate it!

Hi Cabe,
I've spoken to Tyco about the possibility of supplying us with CPC cable assemblies and they would like a bit more information from you. Can you advise...
Which CPC series you are using.
What cable lengths you would require.
And what sort of volume you would be interested in ordering.
Thanks,
Gareth
Gareth,
What I am using now is the following, I just need something like it:
CONXALL - 4282-8SG-300 - CIRCULAR CONN FEMALE SIZE 20, 8POS PANELCONXALL - 4282-8SG-300 - CIRCULAR CONN FEMALE SIZE 20, 8POS PANEL
And its mate
CONXALL - Connector; #20; Solder Cup; 8; Pin; 3282-8PG-3DC
On the mate, 3282-8PG-3DC I would need between 12" (inches), but ideally I need 6' (feet).
On the 4282-8SG-300, I only need a 12" lead.
I would take either 4 pin or an 8 pin solution, whcihever is ultimately cheaper.
At the start, my volume would only be about 4 cable assemblies a month. But I will most likely ramp up demand over time.
Thank you for your help, this will help so much.
Cabe
Have you give any consideration to using crimp contacts instead? Much easier, although you will typically need ot buy a tool.
