CAN Bus reference material needed

It seems my new job has taken a turn from lighting (LEDS) to CAN Bus communication. I will admit, my knowledge of CAN Bus is purely academic. This job I have is one of those “hit the ground running” scenarios. So, to get the best grasp of CAN Bus, what reference materials do you suggest? (white papers, books, etc)

Also, are there any web sources/communities for CAN?

Hi cabe,

It seems that we will partners in crime... I have to take up a CAN job pretty soon. Mine is not related to lighting but automotive. As CAN will be only a small part of the puzzle for me, I didn't even focus on it yet. I hope you will lot's of replies! The starting point for me is often the Microchip website and some advisers who are linked to Microchip. I find their approach pretty easy going and there are tons of goodies on the shelve to start with.

Enrico,

My new job will be automotive and lighting based, taillights for cars. So, I am indeed in the same spot as you.
