Hi,
I am looking for an approach to wirelessly connect to a USB device over a range of at least 100m or so, maybe able to also go through a vehicle, to allow a person to remotely control a USB 2.0 based video peripheral transparently over a wireless connection from inside a car at up to ~100m away. Longer range would be even better. From my research it looks like the industry standard for Wireless USB is not very well supported, and doesn't cover anywhere near the range I am looking for. The only 3rd party solutions I have really seen are expensive, use proprietary wireless implementations, and are not recommended for use with video.
I want to implement a link that has the required distance capability and allows the peripheral to connect as if it is using a typical short USB wired connection but will allow full bandwidth operation over the required range. With all of the existing embedded wireless solutions out there, has anyone seen an approach for this that could be made to work, preferably for a price less than ~$100 or so?
Thanks bunches,
Mike L.
