Power delivery IC

Hello,

 

Discalaimer: I am an hobbyst, not a professional

 

I am looking for a IC that change the output from a USB-C from 5v to 12v. I was able to find a few IC (like STUSB4700 from STM but there are others) that can do this, but all the IC i found need to be connected to a master I2C. Since i run out of pins, and i would like an easier solution i would like to have a chip that can change the power delivery from the standard 5v to 12v. On aliexpress i found the IP2721 (see here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/58666162/type-c-usb-c-trigger-set-lowest-voltage-allowed ) which is perfect for my needs but it has a chinese datasheet and doesn't seem easy t find.

 

Do you know any solution?

    It took me a while to figure all this out and Im a retired engineer, lol. First you need to decide whether to use an already made board or are going to design your PCB as well. I chose the latter. Evaluation boards will be pricey for the beginner. Being I already had the ATMEL IDE and interface for all their micro controllers, I decided on their chip USB7206. Its a 100 pin QFN and handles all the power profiles up to 20VDC at 5A. Of course you have the power supply to deliver the power to start with. It just has a power rail in the chip.It is about $9.00.

    This chip carries you to a full 10gb  data transfer speed.

     

    If you do not need that speed,  the Arduino was supposed to make one with PD for the USB3.0 The micro controller above is for 3.1 gen 2. The only thing I could find on the Arduino which is called Micro PD was just some crowd funding.

     

    I'm sure that all this is too late for you but perhaps it will help others
