Ten years ago I asked a banking client if they would consider Linux. "Maybe for developers to play with, but not for production. We use NT servers or the IBM mainframe"
Five years ago I was about to deploy an application I'd built for the same client. "You'll have to deploy on Linux - that's our standard production environment now."
So it make take a while but even big companies can make sensible decisions when they save enough money by doing so.
