Hi!
I am trying to control four piezoelectric sounders (without oscillator circuits) with one microcontroller pin (which can source about 20 mA of current).
The sounders are supposed to have a 12 V (peak-to-peak), so I tried a push pull configuration with transistors and an opamp. When I connected a piezoelectric sounder to the output of the push-pull circuit, it behaved like a short and fried the opamp.
Then I tried a normal opamp inverting amplifier. It seems to work for one or two, but I doubt it'll work for four.
The problem is that this has to be a low power (battery driven) solution, so an opamp that can be shut down (like the LT6000) is really important.
I don't have much space available on the PCB, so a compact solution is also important.
Does anyone know a good way to drive the piezoelectric elements?
