Hi guys,,, I'm new with embedded systems.. and I'd like to develop a video Streaming System with some ARM proccesor... the idea is using a webcam or some kind of camera to stream video over wifi .... any idea.. sugestion... I'm really new at this.... I have made some advaces with ffmpeg to coding the video... thanks

I am just starting a new project...I am using a OV7670 Cmos camera module with the STM32F Discovery board , a 3.2 inch TFT touch screen,and a Wifi Bee.
The OV7670 is a very good camera as it has a SCCB which is the same as I2C I am told, and will soon find out..In a week or so I will post results here...

I just finished making the camera work via DCMI, or at least I'm capturing frames but hard to tell without actually looking at a generated image. Do you guys have any idea how to view a bytestream of RGB565 data over serial port in a Windows PC? I can send the captured data to a serial port but I can't find a way to convert this data to a bitmap that can be displayed in the computer.
Anyway, I'll be bookmarking this thread for any update.
If you expect video high resolution and framerate which means video encoding, I would recommend an ARM Processor type ARM9 or ARM Cortex-A rather than an ARM Microcontroller type Cortex-Mx.
