Essentially a Single Board Computer comparison (though I don't consider Arduino a SBC). I hadn't realized that there was a new APC model called the Rock. The earlier APC had an older ARM11 CPU (ARMv6) like the Pi, but the Rock has an ARM Cortex A9 (ARMv7) plus GPIO. Video is both VGA and HDMI.

I've only used the Pi and BeagleBone so far. Anyone have experiences to share about the APC (either model), CubieBoard, Goosberry, Hackberry or OLinuXino (any model)?

Thanks for the link. I see in your comment you mention AMD Geode GX. Is there a specific board with that? I'm searching web but seem only be finding info about the processor itself and not a SBC that uses it.

Here is the link to the AMDs x86 RDK SBC If you got a good AMD rep you can get one or two free ones, other wise heres a link to a distrubutor SBC-GX533 it's a bit pricy but in my opinion it would be well worth it.

I have only ever used the Arduino Uno and Arduino Duemilanove. It's very good for advanced hobbyists and students. I don't have any experience with other SBC's so I'm not sure how it compares, but I'm content with using Arduino.

Differences are huge. Arduino is nota computer but just a microcontroller. These boards have the ability to run full operating systems quite efficiently. I received my cubieboard a few days ago, it has been very easy to installa Linux distro and use Ubuntu quite smoothly. It is similar to the arduino in that it has I/O but that is where the similarities end. It gives the ability to run the I/O from the board, with quite a bit more processing power also. I have the cubieboard and the pi, and for $15 more, the cubieboard is well worth it.

Ah I see. Well I'm an Embedded Systems Engineer, so a Microcontroller usually suits my needs. I'd have to buy a Raspberry Pi someday and play around with it.
