I found this module in an old laptop, unwired. Has anyone ever tried to use one of these?

After closer inspection there was a 6-pin connector on the backside that was broken off, so I'm not going to try and use it. Thanks, Scott

Yeah, looking at other photos now some do show a cable harness coming from the pack of the board. Perhaps the four pads are just for programming the module.

There seems to be very little information out there about them, other than places to buy them.
