Can anyone here give me an idea about a closed loop small arduino project?

My professor assigned me a project which i have to choose on my on. I t should be a closed loop circuit, means input is applied and a sensor checks the output and if there is any deficiency it increase or decrease the input.

I had an idea of controlling an actual ceiling fan. It should be temperature controlled and must e automatic. when a person enters the room the light as well as fan must starts automatically and when person leaves the room it must turn off automatically.

I don't have any idea how to do this all stuff.

Suggest me another good project or help me out with this project.

I’ve written a blog post here on e14 about porting an Arduino PID library to another platform. The blog contains a link to that very good library. MSP432 and TI-RTOS: PID Library Part 1 - Intro

A closed loop refers to a control system where the output is adjusted to achieve a target condition based on feedback from a sensor. If the sensor indicates the condition is below target the output gets…

    Hi Muhammad,

I'm not sure your proposed project is closed loop. Isn't that more like having a container of water with a leak. When the water gets below a certain level a sensor is triggered and it starts a pump that refills the bucket to a desired level. Or how about sensing a voltage at a remote variable load and adjusting the voltage output of the power supply to compensate.

You may want to check out this reference about the methods for controlling and regulating closed loop systems. The better you understand what the closed loop system is the easier it will be to choose an appropriate project to demonstrate your understanding.

I don't have a lot of experience with this area but I am very interested so I hope you come back and post what you are doing on the project and how it turns out.

Thanks John for your Comments. I am going to do a deep study on closed loop projects. I will surely discuss my project on this forum.

    Best Regards
