Leakage Current Tester MP780051

Does anyone know how to install battery into this tester?

Obviously, the manual was wrong. There is not a single screw visible from outside. The battery compartment cover also nowhere to be found. I was wonder is it manufacturing defect or design fault? If I really have to pry open the case to install the battery, then it is definitely a design failure.

Try removing the protective rubber cover as Gough suggested if you haven't already. It is separate from the case and it is not uncommon for portable meters to have removable covers as protection. See for example my Extech meter with the cover removed.

It would be interesting to see how the rubber cover comes off since the clamp comes through it on 2 sides and the display would come out a third side?

I would expect the region around the jaw will expand far enough for the whole unit to be pulled through the hole in the rubber on that side. But for that to happen, you might have to first raise the rubber on each side as it might sit in a groove/channel to keep the rubber "snug" to the unit.
