[URGENT] BBB led power on only

Former Member
Former Member over 9 years ago

Hello everyone,

I bought a BBB and tested it: at start up, the USERS leds blinks.  I have followed the instructions in the site Beagleboard:Updating The Software - eLinux.org.

I unplagged the power supply and I keep pressed the S2 button (boot) (at least 1 minute), I Applied the power to the board by plugging in the cable (external power supply 5 V, 3 A). Only power led is on.

When I pressed the power button for at least 8 seconds, the power led is turned off then after  3-4 seconds it is turned on.

When I connect the BBB to UART port, I see the character 'CCCCCC' periodically, what does it mean?

Could you please help me, it is urgent?

Assuming your power supply etc is all sorted, perhaps your microSD card doesn't have a valid image. Can you check it in another BeagleBone Black?

Also, I'm presuming you don't have any additional hardware/capes etc plugged on top of the BBB. If your additional hardware is interfering with some of the pins (well designed

hardware won't, but eliminate the risk by removing it for now) then the boot method changes, which perhaps might cause this issue.

    Hi all,

I have verified my sdcard with the tool Active Partition Manager. I have verified that my partition is an active one. My BBB still send me the sequence 'CCCCCC'. Strange behaviour !!!
