1080p@60 resolution on RIoTboard (I.Mx6solo) expansion header

Hello,

I wanted to get 1080p@60 resolution from RIoTboard (I.Mx6solo) through the expansion header for CMOS display.I tried doing it by making changes in -

1) ~/riot/kernel_imx/arch/arm/mach-mx6/board-mx6dl_RIoTboard.c

2) ~/riot/kernel_imx/arch/arm/mach-mx6/board-mx6solo_RIoTboard.c

3) ~/riot/kernel_imx/drivers/video/mxc/mxc_lcdif.c

I managed to reach up to 30 frames per second but when I am trying to get more fps by changing the frequency and porch timing values display doesn't show up.

Is this possible to get 60 fps 1080p resolution using expansion header (parallel data) ? if possible how can i get it ?

Please help me out.

Regards,

Abhishek Sharma

i.MX6S|i.MX 6Solo Processors|Multimedia|NXP Look at multimedia in chart showing 1080p@30fps. For SBCs, look for dual core GPU's Clem

I am impressed you get 30 fps at 1080p. Most TV's this is considered top end unless you get newer 4K sets. Unfortunately the video core only allows a codec of 1080p@30 fps.

    Hello,

You said that RIoTboard does not support 1080p@ 60 fps. Is this given in any of the data sheet or you are saying with your personal experience.

And Is there any other board which can give 1080p@ 60 fps parallel data ?

    Regards,

    Hi sharma.abhi2910
Well It's always better to take a look at the datasheet first image
Its already mentioned in that and on their webpage also: i.MX6S|i.MX 6Solo Processors|Multimedia|NXP .

On the second question about And Is there any other board which can give 1080p@ 60 fps parallel data ?
That depends! what kind of application you wish to use it in for, what features you like to have and at what cost?image
