Web server and DHCP?

Hi,

 

I'd like to know if it will be possible to have a RPi running linux and with Apache web server and as a dhcp server.

 

I work for a STB manufacturer and would love to be able to use a RPi as a small image server for upgrading boxes without having the use the Linux server I usually use, but it would need to have a real time clock, act as a web server and have dhcp features.

 

Do I need to use something else or could a Raspberry Pi do all this?

    The RPi does not have a real time clock that operates after shutdown.

    You will need to either (a) enter date & time at boot up or (b) allow the RPi to connect to an internet timeserver to set date and time at boot up.

     

    hmmm, or, if you can get access to clear sky, you could get a little, low cost (~$40) GPS module and query it for time. My geek says this method. image

    I finally got around to trying an external RTC and it was quite simple to interface.  Running "hwclock -s" in a startup script should do the trick of setting date/time after powerup.
