I want to add a PID Temp controller to a Hamilton Beach rotisserie (toaster) oven to get better temperature control and thus get best possible coffee bean roast. I am not an engineer of any sort by I know some of the basics and how to solder AND I know how to follow directions. I want to be sure I wire this PID correctly. the closest example I found was the website here: http://www.die4laser.com/toaster/index.html
Would it be as simple as inserting the PID in place of the timer? Is there a need for an SSR? What other things should I consider? I do intend on adding some insulation to lower heat loss.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I tinker with a lot of things but sadly not an expert at anything.
