is arduino and Atmega328 performance same?

i am worried about accuracy and reliability.now a day i realize one problem with arduino and that is arduino stop working with out any reason.once i start the power arduino working properly after some interval of time it stop working and work randomly.

Can you post a picture of your test set up - this can often help in understanding 'random' problems.
