raspberry pi camera and arduino gsm shield for sending photos to a phone

hello everyone my name is Nathan Weber and I have a very big question to ask of all you. My question is that I'm getting a arduino uno this holiday with a gsm shield and a sd card to go with it. So what I want to know is that if I were to have a raspberry pi and a raspberry pi camera what kind of battery would I use and how would I make the circuitry so it doesn't explode or short out quickly. I already know how to do the code, how to set up the camera and the shield and I know how to make the enclosure. also I would like to add a 16x2 character display to tell the time and battery level and how would I connect that in the circuit. I would really like it if you people could help me and if you do I will maybe make it into a kickstarter and give all of you one when it is made.

a working Battery Booster shield would be ideal   http://www.element14.com/community/roadTests/1260

There is a TI Booster pack one that will work, it will need you to remove the headers and wire the coms directly but its all standard stuff, there are sketches available for both the Arduino and the Launchpads that provide an excellent start to writing the code for the PI

you can use the gpio pins to do the display, not sure what you would need the arduino for though as you should be able to modify the gsm shield to work with the pi.

thank you Robert and Peter I have found something  I can use to connect the arduino gsm shield to the arduino but the only other problem I'm facing is how I am going to power everything because the shield would use the on board power from the arduino, so will the camera it is just the lcd I'm worried about. Would really like it if you could help me and p.s thank you for all the help

I am guessing that this is what your looking for as far as information.

Episode 152: Ben Heck's Raspberry Pi Point and Shoot Camera Episode

This is a good program for ideas.  However for learning Peter Oaks, the other guy who posted here has some really good videos posted at

TheBreadboard | Electronics Breadboarding and Beyond

His videos although not as entertaining are a lot better as an information source then Ben Hecks.  He seems to approach the videos as education, and covers more then you need to complete the projects that he is doing.  So far he just seems to have some basic stuff up on his site but I was impressed at what I saw.  You might take a look.
